All ACCC Women Resident in Massachusetts Honored as Top Women of Law

Three ACCC coverage litigators have been recognized as "Top Women of Law," an annual honor bestowed by the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly: Nancy Adams of Mintz Levin, Barbara O’Donnell of Sulloway and Hollis and Tamara Wolfson of Anderson & Kreiger LLP. The ACCC was pleased to make and support these successful nominations, which resulted in all of the College’s female fellows in Massachusetts obtaining well-deserved recognition.

“Top Women of Law” celebrates the achievements of exceptional women lawyers who are pioneers, educators, trailblazers and role models. The honor is particularly fitting for Adams, O’Donnell and Wolfson given each of their individual career achievements. It also recognizes the excellence of the College and its members, and the elevated role of insurance lawyers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Adams has served as national coordinating coverage counsel for insurers. She is best known for her experience representing insurers in parallel actions before the bankruptcy and federal courts in connection with coverage claims, like those suits pending and developing as the pandemic has forced policyholders’ businesses into bankruptcy. O’Donnell handles a broad range of coverage disputes, including those relating to additional insured coverage, insured contract obligations, defense cost contribution claims, and trigger of coverage -- all complex coverage areas implicated by recent events and insurance claims. Wolfson counsels insurers and insureds on emerging insurance issues and exposures, such as the privacy and cyber risks attendant to the pandemic.

We are pleased that MLW has recognized the achievements of Adams, Wolfson, and O’Donnell as leaders in the field of insurance law.
